Attendance Area Adjustment Plan - Recommendation to the Board
April 3, 2014
Since January, a committee of elementary school administrators, teachers, PTA/PTO members and community members has worked to develop a recommendation for adjusting elementary attendance boundary areas. Growth has occurred in the western area of the district and increased student enrollment is impacting building capacities at the elementary level. The board of education received the committee’s recommendation at their April 3, 2014 work session.
At the meeting, three members of the committee shared comments regarding their experience with the committee and responded to questions from the board. Dr. David Stoakes, RSP, then presented an overview of the process and how the committee worked to develop a recommendation. Scenario 2b and scenario 5 were presented to the board for consideration.
Following discussion, the board asked that the committee reconvene to further develop their recommendations regarding waivers and other items for consideration by the board.
It is anticipated that the board will hear back from the committee at their May 1, 2014 meeting and adopt a plan at their May 15, 2014 meeting.
Additional information will be posted as it is provided.
