2017 Bill Burch Award Recipient – Jackson Cole
Jackson Cole not only best exemplifies the personal qualities of sincerity and compassion toward others but is also hard-working, ambitious, and optimistic. Jackson has been a constant positive influence for other students by being empathetic, helping other students in need, and being a person of high character.
He is a model student and participant in many activities who has earned the respect of staff and students due to his dependability and ability to connect with many people. Jackson is described by staff as someone who leads by example through actions, maintaining composure, putting the needs of others first and doing what is right but not necessarily easy. He displays a great deal of empathy for all students. We recognize him as someone who possesses compassion to go out of his way to include others.
Jackson has earned an outstanding academic record that includes many rigorous courses while being involved in a variety of activities throughout high school. He has been a member and leader in numerous activities including National Honor Society, Student Council, Student Activity Leadership Team, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Got Bounce. He has also been a participant in track and tennis as well as a participant and team captain in basketball and football.
On behalf of the Southeast Polk High School District, it is our pleasure to honor Jackson Cole as this year’s Bill Burch Award recipient.
