Food Pantry and Clothes Hanger Information
Caring Hands Outreach Center is a collaborative effort of churches and community organizations in the Southeast Polk region of Central Iowa, providing food, clothing, and household items to those in need. *Donations are accepted during hours of operation listed below.
Location: 201 9th Street NW, Altoona IA 50009
Caring Hands Food Pantry - offers the choice of food, personal care, cleaning items, and limited help with rent/utilities.
Clothes Hanger - offers infant through adults size clothes and small household goods at no cost.
- Food Pantry Hours Monday and Wednesday 4-6pm as well as the 1st and 3rd Saturdays from 9-11am
- Clothes Hanger hours Monday and Wednesday 3-6pm as well as the 1st and 3rd Saturday from 9-11am
Shop with a Cop is a program where with limited financial resources have an opportunity to go on a shopping trip with an officer during the holiday season. Names will be taken until Dec. 1st, 2015.

Summer Kids Cafe
Altoona Kids Cafe is a Summer Food Service Program that provides summer lunches to students who reside within the Southeast Polk School District. If you are interested in lending a hand or joining them for lunch, please contact us.
Location: Cross Cafe located inside Lutheran Church of the Cross, in Altoona.
Lunch Offerings: They will serve lunch Monday through Friday, 11:30-12:30 pm from June 9th until July 3rd.

Warm Kids Warm Hearts
Donations can be dropped off at all of the Southeast Polk school buildings, Over The Top, Adventure Life Church, Altoona Pediatric Dental, Altoona Police Department and Altoona Campus. Donations accepted until October 20th. Click here for more information.
Caring Hands Outreach Center would like your help in spreading some extra holiday cheer to our customers this Christmas Season! We are looking for some joyful, friendly volunteers to serve smiles, cookies and hot chocolate for our clients in the waiting room during operation hours for the month of December. Volunteers will set-up refreshments, serve them to customers and then clean-up refreshment area. We are asking for 2 volunteers each night to serve from 3:30pm-6pm.
