Southeast Polk Community School District
Southeast Polk Community School District is located just east of the Des Moines metro area. We serve more than 6800 students in grades preschool to 12th grade. The central campus - consisting of the high school, junior high, sixth grade building, district office, bus maintenance facility, and buildings and grounds department - is located in the geographic center of the district, with eight elementary schools located throughout the district.
We are surrounded with a variety of recreational opportunities. The popular theme park, Adventureland, and the state’s only horse racing facility, Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino, are located in the district. A myriad of athletic and cultural opportunities are close by in Des Moines, and 11 colleges and universities are located within 35 miles of the district.

Southeast Polk's mascot is the RAM, which is an acronym taken from Runnells, Altoona and Mitchellville - the three original communities with high schools that consolidated to make the Southeast Polk Community School District in 1961.
