Southeast Polk’s Return to Learn Plan

At the October 15 Southeast Polk School Board meeting, the board voted and approved to transition to the Hybrid 1 Learning model for PK-12 students beginning on Monday, November 2, 2020, until further notice. In this model, students learn 100% of the time, 5 days a week, either in-person or online. The District will continue to support the 100% online learning model (Remote) for families who choose that model.

Despite what we are seeing around the state, our district and local data have continued to show a slow, stable reduction in daily cases, percent positivity, and the number of new cases/100,000. This trend, combined with steady, low absentee rates, indicates that a transition to Hybrid 1 is an appropriate and manageable option at this time.

With this change, we recognize that some families may decide to change their current learning model. For example, students learning 100% remote (online) may choose to switch to in-person learning; alternatively, students currently learning in-person may want to switch to 100% remote (online).  Students/families who want to change their learning model must complete a form prior to noon on October 23, 2020. You can access the form by clicking here.

Otherwise, no action is needed.
