Dear Southeast Polk Families,

On November 4th, our community will have the opportunity to vote on the Southeast Polk 2025 Bond Referendum — a proposal designed to ensure our schools continue to meet the needs of our growing district and provide safe, modern, and supportive learning spaces for all students.

Here are some of the key points about what this proposal would make possible:

Projects in the Plan

• New Elementary School: Our enrollment continues to grow, and we’re projected to outgrow our current buildings. A new school will help keep class sizes manageable, provide neighborhood options closer to home, and allow space for dedicated preschool and transitional kindergarten classrooms.
• Playground Upgrades: Safe, accessible, and modern play spaces encourage healthy activity, creativity, and serve the community after school hours.
• Junior High Renovation: Safety, accessibility, and modernization are priorities—upgrades include secure entrances, improved common spaces, an accessible main office, and efficient infrastructure systems.

Financial Responsibility

• Careful, efficient planning to meet needs without overspending.
• No increase to the District’s property tax levy rate
• Southeast Polk’s tax levy rate has decreased significantly in recent years.
