The winter weather we have experienced has impacted our instructional time with students and our school calendar.  Our calendar is based on hours. The Board-approved academic calendar calls for the hours of any days canceled to be made up at the end of the year.  Currently, Southeast Polk has missed 4 days. In order to limit the number of school days in June, the Board approved a few changes to the academic calendar at their meeting on March 14th.

  • April 8th will now become a regular school day.  The scheduled Professional Development day for staff will be moved to the end of the year.
  • The remaining 3 days will be added to the end of the calendar on June 3rd, 4th, and 5th.
  • June 5th will be a 2-hour early dismissal for all K-8 students. There will be no late start for 6-8 students. High School students will be following their semester finals schedule.
