Highlights from the January 7, 2021, Southeast Polk Board of Education Meeting

Approvals

  • The Board approved the consent agenda items.
  • The Board approved the recommended program plans for Drop-Out Prevention and At-Risk for the 2021-2022 school year.
  • The Board approved the recommended maximum modified supplemental amount of $1,716,948  for Drop-Out Prevention and At-Risk programming for the 2021-2022 school year.
  • The Board approved the recommended date of February 4, 2021, for the public hearing on the High School and Junior High roof project. 
  • The Board approved the recommendation of the B101 Agreement between the District and Shive-Hattery, Inc. as the architect/engineer firm to manage the High School and Junior High School Roof Project. 
  • The Board accepted the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report and the independent auditor’s report for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2020.

Presentations/Discussions:

  • Dr. Dirk Halupnik, Superintendent, provided a Return to Learn update. 
  • Amy Chebuhar, District Lead Nurse, provided a health update.
  • Dr. Jo Ellen Latham, Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction, provided a professional development update.
