Highlights from the September 17, 2020, Southeast Polk Board of Education Meeting

Approvals

  • The  Board approved to move agenda items 2D and 2E to Oct. 1 meeting.
  • The Board approved the consent agenda items.
  • The Board approved the next meeting dates of Oct.1, 2020 and Oct.15, 2020.
  • The Board accepted the Abstract of Votes for the bond referendum special election. A total of 2197 votes were received and the bond passed with 70% approval.
  • The Board approved the Return to Learn recommendation to continue on Hybrid 2 until October 30, 2020.

Presentations/Discussions:

  • Dr. Halupnik, Superintendent, provided a monthly update.
  • Kevin Baccam, Executive Director of Business Services, provided an update on the Certified Annual Report (CAR). Deadline for submittal has been extended to September 25. 
  • Kevin Baccam, Executive Director of Business Services, provided an update on the Referendum 2020/Capital Projects 5 Year Plan.
  • Joseph Horton, Associate Superintendent, presented an update on district enrollment.
  • Jason Kurth, Technology Director, provided a technology update.
