College Planning at Southeast Polk
Explore Southeast Polk (SEP)’s many resources to help students plan for post-secondary education. From college and career fair information to essential tools and help with financial aid, we’re here to help students and their parents navigate this transition.
Attend the annual College Fair hosted by SEP and featuring colleges from across the state, including the University of Iowa, UNI, Iowa State, DMACC, Drake, Kirkwood, Grand View, Simpson, La’james International, Central, Iowa Central, Aveda Institute, William Penn, Luther, Wartburg, and SEP’s Dollars for Scholars. You’ll receive free application and FSA ID creation help from the guidance office, so students should bring their social security number, Chromebook, and payment method for submitting college applications.
In addition to meeting with colleges, be sure to join us for a free session in the SEP High School Multipurpose Room from 5:00 to 5:30 or 5:45 to 6:15 to learn about your options for paying for college.

If you need help planning for life after high school, SEP’s annual career and college planning presentation is here to guide you through the transition. Whether you’ve been preparing for college or considering the military or entering the workforce, there’s a lot to do before you or your child graduates from high school. Important actions should be taken during the last few years of high school to ensure a successful transition. This is when families start to wonder exactly what they should do next and how to go about it.
To help you with the planning process, SEP’s high school counseling office has invited ICAN® (Iowa College Access Network) to do a free presentation on career and college planning for sophomores, juniors, and their parents. This is the ideal opportunity to find answers to your questions about the college planning process.
