Post-Secondary Testing Resources

Twice a year, Southeast Polk (SEP) offers post-secondary testing in October and March. SEP wants all seniors to take post-secondary testing whether they are planning on attending a four-year college, going to community college, pursuing a military career or interested in an apprenticeship program. To simplify this process, we host tests such as the ACT, Accuplacer/ALEKS, and specific apprenticeship tests at the high school. We’ve also compiled a list of test times at other locations so students can find the right opportunity that fits their schedules.

To sign up for a test offered at our high school, we provide a Google Form link to register. Tests hosted by external sites will link to their direct registration sites.

The ACT is a standardized test used as part of college admissions across Iowa.

Testing Date: Wednesday – March 10, 2026

Test Time: 8:00 AM

Testing Location: District Office

The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) test is a mandatory aptitude test for military enlistment. Its purpose is to identify each student’s strengths and job eligibility.

Testing Date: Wednesday – March 9, 2026

Test Time: 8:00 AM

Testing Location: Multipurpose Room – High School

The ALEKS assessment is used to determine appropriate course placement for students enrolling in community and four-year colleges.

Testing Location: Multipurpose Room – High School

These tests are designed to evaluate readiness for specific trade fields.

Plumbers and Steamfitters Test (Plumbers, Welders, and HVAC)

Testing Date: Thursday – March 12, 2026

Test Time: 10:00 AM
