Foundation Board of Directors

Dean O’Connor, president/owner of Larry’s Window Service, Inc. and 1985 graduate of Southeast Polk, looks forward to raising awareness of the newly formed foundation. Dean also wants to get people excited and involved in giving to the most important aspect of Southeast Polk: education.

Sharon L. Townsend is a Southeast Polk community philanthropist. Sharon has children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who have been or currently are students in the district. Sharon looks forward to finding an exciting group or individual opportunities for Southeast Polk students and teachers.

Troy Paterson, vice president of Copy Systems, has children at Southeast Polk High School and does business with the district. Troy is enthusiastic to create a foundation that helps students and faculty receive the things they need to be a cutting-edge school district.

Maggie Crabb is the Altoona Kids Café director and a 1997 graduate of Southeast Polk. Her two children currently attend Clay Elementary. Maggie is excited to promote and support programs and initiatives that will enhance educational opportunities for all of the students and educators of Southeast Polk today and in the future. Maggie is also enthusiastic about the foundation’s unique ability to help connect alumni and individual donors who want to invest in the future of our children and Southeast Polk Schools.

Donald C. Timmins, a certified public accountant and a member of the SEP FFA advisory committee, has lived in the Southeast Polk district since 1972. His three children attended Southeast Polk, and his two grandchildren currently attend Centennial Elementary. Donald looks forward to developing a source of current funding and endowment funding for special projects to promote educational opportunities for students.

Alex Johnson is a 1992 graduate of Southeast Polk, with four children currently attending school in the district. Alex lives in Runnells and enjoys helping students take advantage of educational opportunities.

Kyle Mertz is the director of sales at Frank Berlin & Associates, and a current Southeast Polk community member. Kyle is excited to be part of building a successful foundation that will contribute to the education of Southeast Polk students.

Mattia Hansen is the Community Relations Coordinator at Southeast Polk and alumni from the class of 2003.  Mattia has her masters in Communication Leadership at Drake University.  She is passionate about giving back to the community, education, and being a lifelong learner.
