Southeast Polk Community School District is pleased to welcome Dave Berger as our new Director of Buildings and Grounds. Dave joins us following the retirement of longtime director Gary Haines, and he brings with him extensive experience in school operations, facilities management, and energy conservation.

Throughout his career, Dave has led large-scale facility operations, overseen capital improvement projects, and championed sustainable practices to make schools safer, more efficient, and better equipped for the future. His leadership in energy management and construction services has been recognized for both innovation and impact—experience that will serve Southeast Polk well as our district continues to grow.

Dave and his wife have called central Iowa home since moving from Omaha in 2001. They have three grown children and enjoy spending time together as a family.

We are excited for the expertise and vision Dave brings to Southeast Polk and look forward to his leadership in ensuring that our schools remain safe, efficient, and welcoming environments for our students, staff, and community.
