Southeast Polk’s competitive junior high show choir took 1st place in daytime rounds and won the award of “Grand Champion” in finals in the middle school division at Dallas Center-Grimes High School’s “Take Two” show choir competition on January 20th.  Sudden Impulse has 58 show choir members and 6 students in the show band.  Sudden Impulse is under the direction of Anthony Cravero, assisted by Kayla Richey, and choreographed by Nicole McBride, and has four assistants from SEP High School’s RAMification show choir: Chaybrin Olsen, Chance Reeves, Maddi Becthold, and Noble Starr.
The group has been rehearsing their show, “Let’s Get Animated”–featuring songs from animated movies–since September 2017.   This year, they will compete in competitions at Des Moines Christian, Dallas Center-Grimes, Urbandale, and Pella.  In addition, they perform five times at SEP, including performances at RAM Showcase, Musical Sweets, Friends and Family, and at the jr high choir concerts.
Anthony Cravero, Southeast Polk Jr. High Show Choir Director, shared, “I’m so proud of my SEP Sudden Impulse show choir students, they faced a challenge and rose to the occasion!”
