National Education Support Professionals day honors a long list of professionals who keep schools running smoothly. Professions include administrative support staff, special education associates, cafeteria staff, maintenance staff, bus drivers, technology, and others that support educators, school leadership, and the students, too. These professionals do their part in making public schools great for every child so they can be safe, learn, grow and achieve.
The National Educational Association’s Representative Assembly called for a day to be set aside to salute the schools’ support employees. In 1987, the assembly created National Education Support Professionals Day.
Southeast Polk employs hundreds of support professionals that provide invaluable services and are essential partners in the children’s education process.
Charles Tayor, Director of Special Education, shared, “The importance of Educational Support Professionals to the effective operation of our schools and to the education of our students can not be overstated. Each and every day this group of dedicated school employees go above and beyond to support every student.”
Be sure to thank each of these hard-working partners when you see them in your school today!
