Off-Season Activities Training Update

Off-Season Activities Training Update
The governing high school organizations for the fine arts, cheer, dance, and off-season athletics have approved for students to return to all summer activities. With this approval, Southeast Polk students in these activities are able to return to training starting July 6, 2020.
We have been planning for this return using the guidance of these organizations however, there are still details to be worked out, including schedule times. If you haven’t already heard from your coach, director, or sponsor, your first step is to reach out to them. If you don’t have that contact information, please email Activities Director, Jayson Campbell at jayson.campbell@southeastpolk.org and he will provide you with the information. We also have a list of coaches’ email addresses on our Southeast Polk website, located here.
While we are excited for our students to get back to training, we must remain vigilant in our attempt to provide safe environments as we gather for each activity/meeting/practice. We have set up several new procedures to assist in achieving this. Any student participating in any activity/meeting/practice will be required to follow these procedures:
- All students must have the following signed documents on file in the SEP High School Activities Office prior to attending any activity/meeting/practice:
- Acceptance of Rules
- Acceptance of Rules 2020 Extracurricular Activities Form
- Print, sign, and email to Ashley Allen at ashley.allen@southeastpolk.org
- Acceptance of Rules 2020 Extracurricular Activities Form
- Informed Consent Form
- Informed Consent Agreement for Participation in School Activities
- Print, sign, and email to Ashley Allen at ashley.allen@southeastpolk.org
- Informed Consent Agreement for Participation in School Activities
- Health Wellness Screening Form to be completed DAILY prior to each gathering
- Acceptance of Rules
- If all 3 documents aren’t on file, the student cannot practice, be in or on any campus facility (including outside stadiums, tracks, fields, or courts) or otherwise present for the activity/meeting/practice.
These forms can all be found on the Southeast Polk Website under the Departments tab then click on Activities. Go to the 2020-2021 Forms | Coaches | Clubs List page located here.
The District appreciates your compliance with these new measures as we attempt to move forward in these changing times. As always, if you are not feeling well, or exhibiting any symptoms, please stay home. Contact your coach, director, sponsor, or the High School Activities Office if you have any questions or concerns.
