Thanks for everyone’s patience while we continue to work with the appropriate external agencies and internal committees to ensure the safety of our students and staff.

Our goal is to continue to communicate with you and while there are still many things to be worked out, here’s what we know now:

  • The first day of school for K – 12th grade is the previously Board-approved start date of August 24, 2020.
  • The first day of school for Preschool is the previously Board-approved start date of Sept. 8, 2020.
  • Our current plan is to provide onsite (in person) learning for all grade levels while practicing the safety guidelines provided by Governor Reynolds and the Iowa Department of Education. This includes that all teachers will be required to wear face coverings and students will be recommended to wear face coverings.
  • We recognize that students with health issues may not want to be in the buildings and will provide online learning for them.
  • The details for all of the scenarios are still being worked out keeping in mind how to safely provide the best learning environment for all involved.

We appreciate everyone’s continued support, knowing we will need to remain flexible depending on guidance from the health department. We remain committed to a continued focus on academic excellence as well as providing for the health, safety, and emotional well-being of students, staff, and community.
