SEP Students Host 2nd Annual Fashion Show

Creativity took center stage Wednesday evening, May 6, 2026, as Southeast Polk High School hosted its 2nd Annual Summer & Style Fashion Show in the high school auditorium. The event highlighted the incredible work of students in the Textiles & Design 2 and RISE programs, who worked very hard preparing for a night that celebrated fashion and hands-on learning.

Students in Mrs. Marasco’s Textiles & Design 2 class designed and created their own garments featured on the runway, from initial sketches and pattern creation to sewing, styling, and modeling the final looks. The show featured a variety of original summer-inspired designs that reflected each student’s creativity and personal style.

Ms. Sadler’s High School RISE class also played an important role in the event, gaining real-world business experience through a partnership with local boutique and salon business, Style by Desiree Salon + Boutique. Students collaborated on marketing, branding, customer experience, and event promotion while learning directly from local business owner Desiree and her team.

Bella Braatz, from our SEP Debate Team, served as Emcee.

Admission to the event was canned good donations for Caring Hands, continuing the students’ commitment to giving back to the community.

The fashion show served as more than just a showcase of clothing — it was a celebration of student talent, collaboration, and career-connected learning. From backstage preparation like hair and makeup to runway presentation, students demonstrated professionalism, innovation, and confidence throughout the evening.

Southeast Polk extends a special thank you to the students, staff, families, and community partners, including special shout-outs to Mrs. Peterson and Jenn with Justified Beauty, all who helped make the event a success and provided meaningful opportunities for students to grow creatively and professionally.
