SEP TAG Students Explore STEM at Go Further Conference
Southeast Polk was proudly represented at the Go Further STEM Conference at Iowa State University! Our 8th- and 9th-grade students in the TAG program spent the day exploring STEM majors and career fields while engaging in hands-on learning.
Southeast Polk Jr. High English and TAG Teacher Leslie Debrower shared, “Our students represented SEP very well at the Go Further conference!”
Students attended sessions focused on conservation practices, building airplanes and rockets, glassblowing demonstrations, and more. Throughout the day, they connected with STEM role models, learned about STEM opportunities, and strengthened their confidence as future leaders in science, technology, engineering, and math.
Hosted by the Program for Women in Science and Engineering (WiSE), this event has been empowering young students since 1987, with more than 65,000 attendees to date.
