Warm Kids, Warm Hearts – 11 Years of Community Care!
Fall is (almost) in the air—and with it comes an opportunity to make a big difference in our community.
The Altoona Elementary PTA’s Warm Kids, Warm Hearts committee has organized its 11th annual winter donation drive—a tradition that has helped keep thousands of Southeast Polk students warm over the past decade.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, last year’s drive met 100% of all identified coat needs and helped provide essential winter gear for over 420 students. While the majority of these students have been elementary-aged, we continue to see a growing need for older students as well.
This Year’s Drive:
September 29 – October 10, 2025
We’re collecting:
-
Winter Coats
-
Snow Boots
-
Waterproof Gloves
-
Snow Pants
-
Hats
Youth sizes S–XL are most needed, but adult sizes are also greatly appreciated and will help meet growing needs.
We anticipate another high-need year, and your support is more important than ever.
How to Help:
-
Drop off donations at any SEP elementary school or partner location
-
If your business or organization is willing to host a collection bin, please reach out to the Altoona Elementary PTA @AltoonaPTA@gmail.com.
-
Let us know if your donation bin becomes full—we’ll have volunteers monitoring and emptying bins throughout the drive.
Sorting Day:
Tentatively scheduled for Friday, October 17, 2025, this is when we organize and distribute the majority of donations to the students who need them most.
Your kindness warms more than just bodies—it warms hearts.
Thank you for helping us support Southeast Polk students and families!
