Attendance for Runnells Elementary

Please click below for instructions on how to report information regarding your student’s attendance. Full day student absences can be reported the following ways:

  • Call the office at 515-966-2068 – provide your name, the student’s name, their teacher’s name, and the reason for their absence
  • Email Emily Burke and the student’s teacher – provide your name, the student’s name, and the reason for their absence
  • Log in to your Infinite Campus Parent Portal account on a computer or the Infinite Campus app on a mobile device
    • Navigate to the Absence Request Portal – located on the home screen under Quick Links
    • Select your student
    • Fill in the required information, including the date and the reason for their absence
    • Submit your request

Any student arrival over 30 minutes past school start time – after 9:20 AM – is recorded as a half day absence.

Late arrivals for students can be reported the following ways:

  • Call the office at 515-966-2068 – provide your name, the student’s name, their teacher’s name, and the reason for their late arrival
  • Email Emily Burke and the student’s teacher – provide your name, the student’s name, and the reason for their late arrival
  • Log in to your Infinite Campus Parent Portal account on a computer or the Infinite Campus app on a mobile device
    • Navigate to the Absence Request Portal – located on the home screen under Quick Links
    • Select your student
    • Fill in the required information, including the date and the reason for their late arrival
    • Submit your request

Any student departure over 30 minutes prior to school dismissal time is recorded as a half day absence – before 3:15 PM on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday and 1:10 PM on Wednesday.

Early dismissals for students can be reported the following ways:

  • Call the office at 515-966-2068 – provide your name, the student’s name, their teacher’s name, the time the student will be leaving, and the reason for their early dismissal
  • Email Emily Burke and the student’s teacher – provide your name, the student’s name, the time the student will be leaving, and the reason for their early dismissal
  • Log in to your Infinite Campus Parent Portal account on a computer or the Infinite Campus app on a mobile device
    • Navigate to the Absence Request Portal – located on the home screen under Quick Links
    • Select your student
    • Fill in the required information, including the date, the time the student will be leaving, and the reason for their early dismissal
    • Submit your request

Please note: Anyone picking up a student must be prepared to present their photo ID and have authorization to pick up the student in Infinite Campus.

In order to ensure our dismissal process runs as smoothly as possible, please report dismissal/pick up changes by 3:15 P.M. This allows us the appropriate amount of time to inform teachers of the change. We realize last minute emergency situations arise and will do our best to accommodate those situations.

Dismissal/pick up changes for students can be reported the following ways:

  • Call the office at 515-966-2068 – provide your name, the student’s name, their teacher’s name, and the dismissal/pick up change
  • Email Emily Burke and the student’s teacher – provide your name, the student’s name, and the dismissal/pick up change

Please note: Anyone picking up a student must be prepared to present their photo ID and have authorization to pick up the student in Infinite Campus.
