Report Bullying at Southeast Polk High School
Bullying & Harassment Procedures
Harassment and abuse are violations of school district policies, rules and regulations and, in some cases, may also be a violation of criminal or other laws. The school district has the authority to report students violating this rule to law enforcement officials.
High School Transportation & Parking
Parent Pickup & Drop-Off: This area is located on the NW side of the high school [view map] and can be accessed from 80th Street. Please avoid the areas directly outside the East and West entrances, as these lanes are designated for buses.
Bus Riders: The My Ride K-12 bus app is a free mobile app that allows you to track your child’s bus in real time. The app shows the bus’s location on a map and provides both scheduled and actual arrival times for home and school. To get started, download the My Ride k-12 mobile app by visiting the App Store or Google Play.
Students: Students driving to school must have a parking tag (see instructions below). During school hours Sophomores park in the Jr High parking lot. Juniors and seniors park in designated areas at the High School. Visitor parking is for our visitors only. Students parking in non-designated areas will be ticketed.
Visitors: When visiting the High School during school hours, park on the EAST side of the building in the designated visitor parking spots. Enter the building through the main entry east doors to get your visitors badge. Note: For security purposes you will need your drivers license to receive a visitors badge.
High School Drivers
Student Parking:
All students who drive to school MUST register their vehicles each school year (see instructions below) and display their parking tag on the rearview mirror. Important: Do NOT park in visitor spaces, numbered spots, or on the grass. Violations will result in a parking fine.
- 10th Graders: Park across the street behind the District Office and in the Junior High parking lot.
- 11th & 12th Graders: Park in the High School parking lot. If the High School lot is full, overflow parking is available across the street at the Junior High.
The stadium is also available to students in grades 10–12; however, all vehicles must be removed whenever there is an after-school event.
Steps to Register and Obtain a Parking Tag:
- Register Your Vehicle: Complete the Student Parking Tag Form.
- Pay for the Tag: Log into your Infinite Campus Parent Portal to pay the $5 fee. (Fees > Optional Fees > Add to Cart).
- Pick Up Your Tag: Bring a valid driver’s license or learner’s permit to the Assistant Principal’s Office during school hours.
Drivers Permits:
After completing Driver Education, students should visit the High School front office to pick up the necessary paperwork to take to the DOT. They must also bring their current permit.
Driver Education:
Driver education classes will be held at SE Polk High School in November and December. Students, parents, or guardians can register online at www.StreetSmartsDriversEd.com or by calling their office at 515-279-1112.

If your student is going to be absent, late or leaving early, please notify the Attendance Office by submitting an Absent Request through your Infinite Campus Parent Portal. The Absent Request is located at the bottom of your home page or on the menu under More.
Watch this video to learn why consistent attendance is one of the most important factors in your student’s academic success. The video highlights how regular attendance supports learning, builds strong habits, and helps students stay connected with their school community. View attendance expectations.
