HealthierUS School Challenge: Smart Lunchroom Silver Award

Four Mile Elementary has received the HealthierUS School Challenge: Smart Lunchroom Silver Award.  This is a National level award that recognizes schools enrolled in Team Nutrition that have created healthier school environments through promotion of nutrition and physical activity. The HealthierUS School Challenge is a voluntary national certification initiative for schools participating in the National School Lunch Program. Sponsored by the USDA Food and Nutrition Service, the initiative encourages schools to take a leadership role in helping students make healthier eating and physical activity choices that will last a lifetime. Four Mile is the first school at Southeast Polk to receive this award!

The HUSSC award is a wonderful distinction for a school who puts the health and well being of students in the forefront.  The Food Service, teaching and all school staff should take pride in all that they do to provide a healthy environment for students to learn in!
