The Southeast Polk Education foundation has completed their fall grant cycle.  Eight recipients within the Southeast Polk School District have received grants totaling $29,025.  The Education Foundation was fortunate to receive an outpouring of support throughout the past year which resulted in a total of eight grants awarded in support of innovative projects, classroom resources and professional development opportunities for students & staff. Grant recipients include:

  • Smart Guitars and an ipad 4 for the Junior High music appreciation class –  $1,200
  • Books for the book room at Runnells Elementary –  $2,500
  • Drone for the Junior High – $1,531
  • STEM Professional Development for 4 buildings –  $1,150
  • Band instruments and instrument cases at Spring Creek – $6,346
  • Robotics kits at the Junior High –  $5,000
  • Clevertouch Interactive Whiteboard for Jody Freel’s 5th-grade classroom at Centennial Elementary – $5,649
  • Clevertouch Interactive Whiteboard for Erin Wilcox’s 1st-grade classroom at Delaware $5,649

Dean O’Connor, Southeast Polk Education Foundation Board President, shared, “These grants provide beyond what is possible from normal school funding and budgets. It is the great support from the community and those that continue to support the SEP Education Foundation that makes this possible.
