Centennial 4th grade students have been studying Newton’s three laws of motion. They had a great time learning about inertia, momentum, acceleration, forces and collisions. In the egg drop experiment, students had to construct a device that could withstand the force of a collision to protect the egg from cracking. The devices students created worked perfectly, not an egg was cracked! Next, students defined a problem and solved it by carrying out a design process. They designed roller coasters! It involved patience and many trials, but all roller coasters were able to meet the criteria!  To say that science is alive in our classrooms is an understatement! SCIENCE ROCKS!
