The Southeast Polk RhythAMetteS won five national championships from the Marching Auxiliaries National Dance Competition in Fort Worth, Texas. They competed against high schools from around the country and one team from South Africa. They placed first in every category they danced: hip-hop, jazz, lyrical, kick, pom and were crowned overall champs.

“The girls looked amazing,” said Marianne Peterson, coach of the Rhythamettes.“These are wonderful girls, strong leaders, and there was such commitment from everyone,” Peterson said. “They set out with this as a goal, and worked incredibly hard to achieve it. I couldn’t be prouder of them.”

The RhythAMetteS have a big graduating class, with 19 seniors and plan to add a few dozen dancers to the team for next year!
