The Southeast Polk Robotic team heads to Cedar Falls March 22 – 24 to compete at the Iowa Regional Competition for First Robotics.  The season kicked off in January and the team had 6 weeks to build and complete their robot. This 2017-2018 high school team has 15 active members.  Team sponsors include John Deere, Wells Fargo, and Digital Matters. This year’s competition revolves around an 8-bit video game and is called “First Power Up.

James Pifer, Southeast Polk Science Coordinator, shared, “We have great students and competitors this year and are looking forward to representing Southeast Polk at this regional competition that brings in 60 teams from across the country.”  He added that “The team has more than doubled in size since its inception in 2016 and the support from parents and volunteers has been tremendous.”
