The Southeast Polk Black and Gold Gala presented by Facebook, Polk County, and Prairie Meadows was held last Saturday evening at Prairie Meadows. The event had over 540 guests in attendance and raised nearly $110,000! This was the first year the Southeast Polk Dollars for Scholars and Southeast Polk Education Foundation joined forces on the premier fundraising event. Guests enjoyed dinner, silent auction, live auction, games, and an after-party.
Proceeds from the event totaling $110,000 and will be split evenly between Southeast Polk Dollars for Scholars and the Southeast Polk Education Foundation.
Robin Norris, event co-chair, shared, “The 2019 Inaugural Black & Gold Gala benefiting Southeast Polk Dollars for Scholars and the Southeast Polk Education Foundation was a tour de force for Southeast Polk students and staff. Our two organizations forged an alliance to create this new event and joined forces with our sponsors and donors to create one inspired evening of giving by our guests. The community support was phenomenal!”
Maggie Crabb, event co-chair, added, “I am so proud of our community! We had an amazing committee of volunteers that worked for 10 months to bring all of our efforts together into one wonderful night. The level of support and collaboration that we have been able to achieve with our presenting sponsors and donors, and finally our guests is overwhelming. Saturday night, the Black & Gold Gala was truly special because it will provide so many opportunities for the students and families in our school district. Some communities talk about working together to do great things, here at Southeast Polk, we get the job done.”
