On May 13, 2020, Southeast Polk Dollars for Scholars awarded $260,000 in scholarships to Southeast Polk High School’s Class of 2020. A total of 202 graduating seniors received scholarships.

In addition – for the first time ever – a scholarship has been awarded to every student that completed an application.

The Southeast Polk Dollars for Scholars Foundation, as well as hundreds of businesses, individuals and organizations in the Southeast Polk area make these scholarships possible each year. In addition, the organization holds community fundraisers throughout the year, with its primary fundraiser being the Black & Gold Gala in October.  This year’s scholarships would not have been possible without the support of our community or the Black & Gold Presenting Sponsors – Prairie Meadows, Polk County and Facebook.

In lieu of the annual Scholarship Recognition Night, scholarship recipients will be announced on the Southeast Polk Dollars for Scholars Facebook page with a special photo montage of all the seniors receiving a scholarship. In addition, scholarship recipients will receive a packet in the mail providing details on their scholarship.
