At the November 19 School Board meeting, the Southeast Polk School Board voted and approved to apply for a two-week waiver from the Iowa Department of Education for all buildings to move to the Remote Only Learning Pathway starting Monday, November 30 through Friday, December 11.  November 30th will be an asynchronous learning day (the same as a learning at home day in Hybrid 2) to allow teachers and families the opportunity to prepare and plan for the remote learning pathway.

In the Remote Only Learning Pathway, all students learn 100% online every day. Students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) will receive accommodations and modifications specific to that student’s plan.

The Board will discuss how to move forward after December 11th at a meeting in early December. Winter Break is Wednesday, December 23 – Friday, January 1, 2021, and there is no school during that time.

More details will be provided once the Department of Education has approved our waiver request.
