Mr. Kevin Walker has dedicated the last 24 years of his life to the Southeast Polk Community serving as our Delaware Principal.  He has earned his well-deserved upcoming retirement.

Kevin came to SEP in 1997 as principal at Mitchellville then spent the last 12 years at Delaware. He brought to us many years of teaching, coaching and administration experience that have made him the leader he is today.  Known for his generous and caring character, he leads by example and encourages his staff to make students the priority. Always willing to get involved, he’s fun and engaging.

Just recently under his leadership, the school and PTA, along with a grant from Polk County Development, raised enough money for a new playground at Delaware.  Polk County Supervisor, Tom Hockensmith shared, “What’s so impressive to the Polk County Board is how hard the PTA, parents and students of Delaware worked to also raise money toward this project.” This total community involvement comes from his positive influence.

Congratulations Mr. Walker on a great career!  We will miss you!

Chelsea Clark will assume the Delaware Principal position. Chelsea was most recently the Spring Creek 6th Grade School Administration Manager.
