We are proud to announce that our Southeast Polk Jr. High has been named a Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Distinguished School again! The PLTW Program Recognition celebrates schools committed to helping students own their education by increasing student access, engagement, and achievement in the PLTW programs. These schools empower their students to unlock their potential by developing the in-demand, real-world knowledge and skills necessary to thrive in life beyond the classroom.

Southeast Polk Jr. High is one of 3 Iowa schools and one of 158 PLTW Gateway programs across the country to receive recognition this year. This is the fourth consecutive year SEP Jr. High has earned this accolade, starting in 2017!

Through PLTW programs, students develop in-demand knowledge and skills that they will use both in school and for the rest of their lives, on any career path they take. As PLTW students progress through grades PreK-12, they are empowered to engage in problem-solving and process thinking, develop technical knowledge and skills, build communication skills, and explore career opportunities.

Southeast Polk offers PLTW Launch (K-5), PLTW Gateway (6-8), and PLTW Computer Science, Engineering, and/or Biomedical Science (9-12).

Southeast Polk is part of a community of PreK-12 schools, colleges and universities, and corporate and philanthropic partners across the country united around a passion for providing students with inspiring, engaging, and empowering learning opportunities.
