We are pleased to welcome George Panosh as our new Willowbrook Elementary Principal. George steps into this role as Nathan Ballagh steps into his new role as principal at Spring Creek.

George joins us after serving as principal for Western Hills Elementary in West Des Moines for the past six years. Prior to that he was assistant principal at Berg Middle school in Newton and also served as technology integration coach and teacher at Linn-Mar CSD in Marion.

He’s currently working on his Educational Doctorate in High Education from Concordia University in Chicago after earning his Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with a Reading Endorsement from Coe College, a Master’s in Educational Leadership from George Washington University and a Master’s in Education Curriculum and Development from Concordia University – Portland.

George and his family are already a part of our community! He, his wife, Jeanna, who is a nurse practitioner, and the rest of his family live in Altoona. Two of his children are SEP grads, Kenedy in 2018, Morgan in 2021, and Jamie is a senior at SEP this year. Their family also includes two cats, Millie and Milo, and their dog, Lily who is a registered therapy dog.

“I am thrilled to be able to serve the community I live in as part of the SEP team.  I am proud of the education my children have received as students and graduates of this great district and look forward to being a part of that tradition for many years to come,” shared Panosh.

The Panosh family enjoys walking the Altoona trails, attending plays and musicals, and cheering for the marching band. They are also Hawkeyes, Bears and Whitesox fans.
