The district regrets to inform all of you that officers with the Pleasant Hill Police Department searched a high school student today and found a gun in the student’s possession.  When searched, the student was taking courses toward graduation at the Junior High, and the student left campus with police without incident and in their custody.

Thankfully, no students were harmed, and the Pleasant Hill Police Department will continue its investigation until it is complete. We are thankful for the PHPD and how they continue to keep our students and staff safe.

Student and staff safety remains a top priority, and the building administration at both the Junior High and High School remain sensitive to situations not unlike this one that pose potential harm to student/staff safety.  As always, our counselors are available for students and families. The district and local law enforcement continue to support students and staff in promoting that “if you see something, say something” in regard to what to do upon discovering anything (online or otherwise) that appears unusual or that may pose a threat to the health and safety of students and staff.
