Free and Reduced Applications are available NOW!

Southeast Polk CSD will be returning to paid, reduced and free meals for the 2022-2023 school year.   Families needing financial assistance are encouraged to complete the Meal Eligibility application to determine if their child(ren) is eligible for Free or Reduced meals. The application is available NOW!

Complete and submit the application ONLINE! Don’t wait, complete the application today.  Meal applications must be submitted annually.

If you have already received a letter stating that your child is eligible for free or reduced meals due to being directly certified, you do NOT need to submit an application.

How to submit your application:

There are 2 EASY ways to submit!

  1.     Online from a computer at www.schoolcafe.com
  2.     Download the SchoolCafe by PrimeroEdge app for your smart device. *

If you submitted online last year, your username and password are the same.  If you do not remember, use the “Forgot username?” or “Forgot Password?” links on SchoolCafe.

*The app is recommended as it allows you to see your child(ren)’s meal purchases, set low balance alerts and set spending limits. You can see instantly what your child(ren)’s meal eligibility is. After submittal, click on Eligibility Info on the left panel.

If you are new to the online submission, there are few items you will need to help make the process easy and have a successful submittal:

  1.     Your child(ren)’s name and date of birth.  Helpful information would be your child(ren)’s school ID and the school they will be attending this Fall.  This can be found on your Campus Portal. Most students grade 6 – 12th know this number as it is their lunch PIN number.
  2.     You must register for SchoolCafe. Here are step by step instructions to complete your registration.
  3.     Here are step by step instructions on how to complete the application on SchoolCafe. English Instructions and Spanish Instructions.
  4.     There is also a short 1 ½ minute tutorial on how to complete.

Additional resources:

Note: Once you submit the online application, you will receive confirmation as well as your child(ren)’s new eligibility status. Be sure to read the confirmation page. In addition your approval/denial letter will be emailed to you from school.nutrition@southeastpolk.org.  This letter can be accessed at any time from your SchoolCafe account under Eligibility Info -> Notifications.

If you are not able to complete the online application and are needing a paper version, please email school.nutrition@southeastpolk.org or call 515-957-3432.  Include your name, phone number and address in the message.
