We are excited to welcome Andrea Bruns as our new Clay Elementary Principal! Andrea steps into this role as Lea Morris steps into her new role as the Director of Special Education.
Andrea joins our Ram Fam after serving in Ankeny as an Associate Principal (3 years), School Administration Manager (2 years), instructional coach and a 4th-grade teacher. She graduated with a double major in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from the University of Northern Iowa then taught kindergarten and 5th grade for eight years in Bellevue, NE. She earned her Masters of Art in Curriculum and Instruction from Doane University in Crete, NE. and her Masters of Science in Educational Leadership from Drake University.
Andrea shared, “I am humbled and honored to join and serve the Clay Elementary family! To be a part of a community that truly cares about and supports each and every student, believes students are leaders and supports them in finding their passion is a privilege. I look forward to establishing relationships and collaborating with all staff, students, and families so that we can continue to see high levels of success at Clay!”
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her two children Alivia and Braylen, running, boating or anything that has to do with water and a beach, traveling, golfing, and cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes.
