Our Southeast Polk High School students have so many amazing opportunities! Because of our strong partnership with Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC), we are able to offer students opportunities to earn college certificate program credit at no cost to the student while still in high school. Upon their graduation from Southeast Polk, they’re already several credits ahead as they start their college careers!

We have three different programs available to our students:

  1. DMACC dual-credit courses offered at SEP High School
  • 548 SEP students took at least one course
  • 918 courses were completed
  • 18 different DMACC dual-credit courses offered at SEPHS

2. DMACC online courses taken by SEP students

  • 89 SEP students took at least one course
  • 130 courses were completed
  • 53 different DMACC online courses taken

3. DMACC on-campus courses taken by SEP students

  • 18 SEP students took at least one course
  • 21 courses completed
  • 13 different DMACC on-campus courses taken

Of these students, 176 have not only taken college-level classes during their high school career, they’ve excelled at it!

108 SEP Students have earned recognition on the Dean’s List achieving a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

Even more impressive are the 68 SEP students who have achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA to be placed on the President’s List!

Congratulations to all of the Southeast Polk High School students who are taking advantage of this opportunity. And a special shout out to these 176 students for this great achievement! You exemplify our district mission to prepare students for success in college, career and civic life!
