Secondary Curriculum

Our secondary English Language Arts curriculum, aligned with the Iowa Academic Standards for English Language Arts, build on the strong literacy foundational skills taught at the elementary level. The 6-12 ELA standards emphasize critical reading, writing, speaking, listening, and language skills. At the secondary level, students engage with complex texts, think critically, use evidence-based reasoning, express ides clearly in writing for a specific purpose, and communicate effectively in various contexts to prepare students for college, career, and civic life.

Our approach to math instruction emphasizes a balanced focus on conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, and real-world application. W are dedicated to equipping students with the mathematical knowledge and skills necessary for success in postsecondary education and the workforce.
