High School Announcements – August 24th, 2026
⇒ Starting the School Year
We are excited to welcome all of our students back for another great school year! The following information and resources will help students and families prepare for a smooth, successful, and positive first week of school.
- Schedules & Calendar Information
Monday, August 24th, 2026 is the first day of the 2026-2027 school year – an ODD day.
- Grade-Level Class Meetings – Wednesday, August 26th
Students should report directly to the auditorium at their scheduled time. Study Halls will be relocated to room S123 (music room) for the listed 3 periods.

- 10th Grade: 2nd Period (10:05-10:35 AM)
- 11th Grade: 3rd Period (10:35-11:00 AM)
- 12th Grade: 4th Period (11:05-11:30 AM)
- Student IDs:
Student IDs will be distributed during the school day within the first few weeks of school. If you need a picture or picture retake, please see the information below.
- Chromebooks:
If you did not pick up your Chromebook during orientation, you may collect it from the counseling office on the first day of school. Please note Chromebooks are only being issued to students who are new to the district this year.
- Building Hours:

- The Building opens at 6:45 AM
- The Commons doors open at 7:15 AM
Students arriving before 8:00 AM who are not attending MTSS must take a seat in the commons.
- Regular School Hours:

- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday: 7:30 AM-2:45 PM. Doors lock at 8:10 AM.
- Wednesdays: 9:30 AM-2:45 PM. Doors lock at 9:35 AM.
South East Polk High School has a closed-campus policy. This means students may not leave the building during the school day without prior approval.
⇒ Student Parking Information
All students who drive to school must register their vehicles each school year (see instructions below) and display their parking tag on the rearview mirror.
If a parking tag has not been picked up for the first day of school, students may pick it up in the Assistant Principals’ Office during school hours. To ensure that process goes smoothly, please make sure all steps below are completed and that students have their driver’s license with them.
- Steps to Register and Obtain a Parking Tag:

- Step 1: Complete the Student Parking Tag Electronic Form
- Step 2: Log into your Infinite Campus Parent Portal to pay the $5 parking tag fee. Navigate to Fees → Optional Fees → Add to Cart. Students may also bring cash to the Assistant Principals’ Office to complete payment.
- Step 3: Stop by the Assistant Principal Office to pick up your parking tag.
- Important Parking Information:
Students should NOT park in visitor spaces, numbered parking spaces, or on the grass. Violations will result in a parking fine.

- 10th Grade – Park across the street behind the District Office or in the Junior High parking lot.

- 11th & 12th Grade – Park in the designated student spaces in the high school parking lot. Student parking is available on a first-come, first served basis.

- If the high school parking lot is full, overflow parking is available across the street at the Junior High.
- The stadium parking lot is also available to students in grades 11-12. However, on Fridays when there is a home football game, all vehicles must be removed no later than 3:15 PM.

⇒ Attendance Reminders
- Absence Requests: If your student is going to be absent, late, or leaving early, please notify the Attendance Office by submitting an Absence Request through your Infinite Campus Parent Portal.
The portal can be accessed on a computer or through the mobile app and is the preferred method for reporting an absence. For step-by-step guidance, please refer to the instructions for accessing the Absence Request Portal. If you are unable to access your Infinite Campus Parent Portal, you may contact the Attendance Office by phone or email:

⇒ High School Activities
- Student Activity Passes: Student Activity Passes for the 2026-2027 school year are now available for purchase! Passes provide free admission to all regular-season home athletic events for just $50 (K-8) or $70 (grades 9-12). The athletic pass for students in grades 9-12 also includes admission to CIML away games.
- Sports & Activity Registration: Registration for the 2026-2027 school year is open for students in grades 7-12 and must be completed online.

⇒ Building Entry Reminders
- Students: Students will need their student ID (campus mobile app or ID card) to enter the High School after the doors lock at 8:10 AM. Students must enter the building through the designated entry doors: Main entrance on east side of the building or the West Entrance. If you are late or returning from an appointment, please use the scanner to check in so your attendance is accurately recorded.
- Visitors: When visiting the High School during school hours, please park in the designated visitor parking space on the east side of the building. Enter through the Main Entrance east doors to receive a visitor badge. Our door attendants will assist you. For security purposes, you will need to provide your driver’s license to receive a visitor badge.

- Infinite Campus Parent Portal is the platform used to stay up to date with your student’s school activity, and we highly recommend using this tool. Through Infinite Campus, you can request absences for your student, view schedules, grades, attendance, reports, missing assignments, and more.

⇒ Picture Dates/Jostens Information
- Picture Day: having a student picture taken is an important part of the school year. Student photos are required for student identification cards and the yearbook. If a picture has not yet been taken, there are still opportunities to have one taken on one of the remaining picture dates listed below.

- Picture Day: Thursday, August 27th: 7:30-11:00 AM
- Retake Day: Thursday, October 1st: 7:30-11:00 AM
- Jostens Information: Jostens will email families directly with information about how to order pictures. Click here to access the ordering website. When ordering, you will need the South East Polk High School Picture Day Event Code: FE124626, along with your student’s Infinite Campus Student ID.

⇒ Standard Reference Grading
Standards Referenced Grading (SRG) is the grading system being used at SEP High School. All courses have identified priority standards within the Infinite Campus gradebook. Teachers will collect artifacts for each standard to determine each students’ level of proficiency. Learn more about the SRG grading system.

Friendly Reminder: Please ensure your student’s fees are paid for the 2026-2027 school year. These may include textbook rentals, parking permits, activity passes, lunch accounts, and activity registrations.
