The safety of our students and staff is a top priority. We are committed to supporting and maintaining a safe and welcoming learning environment for all students at Southeast Polk.

All Southeast Polk School District school buildings are secured with multiple layers of security. All exterior doors remain locked throughout the school day and there are designated entrances at each building whereby visitors are to enter during the school day. We utilize a visitor registration system called Raptor. This visitor management process enables each school building to screen all visitors against serious offender registries nationwide. Each school has a camera to screen visitors before entering the building.

We have invested over a million dollars in enhancing the security of our building entrances.  The funding for this project comes from our Physical Plant & Equipment Levy (PPEL) and our SAVE funds. We continuously work on upgrading our security monitoring systems, lighting, badge readers and cameras.

We are committed to continually improving and enhancing security procedures and features in our buildings across the district in order to protect students and staff at Southeast Polk.
