On Tuesday, July 28, the Board of Education approved the district’s recommended site for Elementary #9 in Pleasant Hill.

The property is located at 6770 NE Rising Sun Drive, between Martha L. Miller Drive and NE Rising Sun Drive, immediately west of the Pleasant Hill Police Department.

Relieving capacity pressure between Four Mile Elementary and Clay Elementary was one of the central objectives of the 2025 bond referendum, and this site addresses that directly. Every potential site was evaluated using the same comprehensive scoring process, and this site rose to the top; the district already owns the property, and it’s shovel-ready. This readiness means the next phase can move forward without delay or additional expense. Construction is targeted to begin in Summer 2027, with plans to welcome students for the 2029-2030 school year.
