Southeast Polk Featured Nationwide by Meta
Southeast Polk Community School District is excited to share that our community was selected as part of Meta’s new nationwide campaign, which shines a spotlight on the positive impact Meta’s data centers have in the towns they’re part of – including our community!
This fall, Meta partnered with the award-winning Los Angeles production company MJZ to film at one of our home football games. The crew captured the excitement of Friday night lights, the pride of our students and families, and the traditions that define Southeast Polk. The video features SEP alum Adam McRoberts as narrator and includes Phyllis Murphy, who worked in the district for decades and is beloved by generations of SEP families.
It was a memorable experience for everyone involved, watching a professional film crew work in and around our football team, cheerleaders, marching band, and fans to highlight the true spirit of our #1SEP community.
Meta opened its Altoona Data Center in 2013 and has been an engaged partner ever since, investing billions of dollars in the State of Iowa and providing the district with generous grants, donations, and funding for programs that support innovative learning opportunities for all of our students.
“We value the strong partnership we have with the Meta Altoona Data Center,” said Superintendent Dr. Dirk Halupnik. “Being featured in this national campaign made this an especially exciting opportunity for Southeast Polk.”
The videos are live now and will air through December 22 on TV, Hulu, and Meta’s social channels. View them on Meta’s Building America page. Check them out!
